Welcome to the application process for Atlas Mountain Race 2027

The purpose of this questionnaire is to learn more about each applicant and gauge whether that person is likely to have the experience required to complete the race safely. There are no wrong answers to these questions, but it’s important that you answer honestly.

The race takes place in an extremely tough, arid, mountain environment, there is little resupply and the terrain is unforgiving. Please do not take participation lightly. Entering this event without the necessary experience can potentially put you in a life-threatening situation. For those who feel they are currently lacking in certain areas, tell us about it. We will not refuse entry based on this single parameter.

You will be asked a number of questions about your experience and motivation as well as some questions to check you have read and understood the Race Manual as well as a few situational questions. To fill out the registration form, you will need the race manual, which you can download, HERE

You will have until the 10th of July at midnight (GMT) to complete your application.

We've made some changes to the application process for 2027. You will now need to fill out the registration form in its entirety, you cannot partially fill it out, save it and come back. Once you've submitted your answers, you will receive a confirmation email. Please click on the link in the email, sign in to Eventrac again and make sure your answers were saved. If your answers were not properly saved, we will not be able to review your application and you may miss out racing, so please double check!

Once you have submitted the form, we will get back in touch, at the latest, by the 24th of July to let you know whether you have been given a spot in the race. You will either be accepted, refused or put on the waiting list, if necessary.

Last year we received many more applications than there were spots available. We will accept 300 riders and then a few more to fill up the spots of any accepted riders who didn't make the payment of their entry by the deadline. Once we have 300 fully paid up entries there will be no more spots available as we don't run a waiting list, with the inevitable cancellations bringing us down to a target number of 250 riders on the start line. We will inform all applicants who don't have a spot at this point that the race is complete so that you can move onto other goals.

This means that there will no doubt be some disappointed riders when we announce the results of your application on the 24th of July. I'd like to explain at this point how spots in the race are allocated. First we accept riders who have a strong chance of being competitive for the overall win. Next, we accept all the women who applied who have the necessary experience. Then we accept riders from under represented nations. Normally all remaining riders with enough experience to race would be put in a random ballot for the remaining spots.

Not including the time it takes to read and comprehend the race manual, the following form should take about 20-30 minutes to answer.

For pair entries, the first rider in the pair must create a team name. When the second rider in the pair applies they can select the name of their team from a drop down menu in the entry form. Pairs riders also need one rental tracker each!
