Welcome to the application process for Atlas Mountain Race 2026
The application process is divided into the following two stages
STAGE ONE: Choose your entry category and submit your personal information to receive a confirmation email with a link to the RACE MANUAL. You can also download the race manual, HERE
STAGE TWO: Review the RACE MANUAL, then complete the experience-related questions before the deadline to complete your application.
The purpose of this questionnaire is to learn more about each applicant and gauge whether that person is likely to have the experience required to complete the race safely. There are no wrong answers to these questions, but it’s important that you answer honestly.
The race takes place in an extremely tough, arid, mountain environment, there is little resupply and the terrain is unforgiving. Please do not take participation lightly. Entering this event without the necessary experience can potentially put you in a life-threatening situation. For those who feel they are currently lacking in certain areas, tell us about it. We will not refuse entry based on this single parameter.
You will have until the 18th of July at midnight (GMT) to complete the STAGE TWO questions and your application.
Before answering any of the STAGE TWO questions, first read the RACE MANUAL carefully. We want to be sure that every applicant has an accurate idea of what they are signing up for.
There are a number of questions designed to check you have read and understood the RACE MANUAL. We have also added a few situational questions that should help make potential riders better aware of the situations they may find themselves in.
After having filled out all STAGE ONE and STAGE TWO questions and submitted the form we will get back in touch, at the latest, by the 1st of August to let you know whether you have been given a spot in the race. You will either be accepted, refused or put on the waiting list, if necessary.
Last year we received over 450 applications. We will accept 300 riders and then a few more to fill up the spots of any accepted riders who didn't make the payment of their entry by the deadline. Once we have 300 fully paid up entries there will be no more spots available as we don't run a waiting list, with the inevitable cancellations bringing us down to a target number of 250 riders on the start line. We will inform all applicants who don't have a spot at this point that the race is complete so that you can move onto other goals.
This means that there will no doubt be some disappointed riders when we announce the results of your application on the 1st of August. I'd like to explain at this point how spots in the race are allocated. First we accept riders who have a strong chance of being competitive for the overall win. Next, we accept all the women who applied have the necessary experience. Then we accept riders from under represented nations. Normally all remaining riders with enough experience to race would be put in a random ballot for the remaining spots. This year we are trialling an incentive for overland travel. We will reserve 25 spots for those of you who make the choice to travel overland to and from the race. When you apply you will be able to let us know that you plan to travel overland. You will be required to provide proof of your travel plans and share a few pics and words on your travel to and from the race. Failure to provide this before the deadline will mean losing your spot in the race. Up to 25 overland riders will skip the ballot and be given a spot directly.
As ever, there is a 50% discount for all Moroccan riders. Please email us to obtain the discount code to apply to your entry!
Not including the time it takes to read and comprehend the race manual, the following form should take about 20-30 minutes to answer.
You will receive the RACE MANUAL via email when you complete STAGE ONE of the application process.
You can also Download and read the RACE MANUAL, HERE before answering any STAGE TWO questions.
For pair entries, the first rider in the pair must create a team name. When the second rider in the pair applies they can select the name of their team from a drop down menu in the entry form.
Good Luck!
